There is unfortunately no built-in "Hide Topic" button for individual users to clear away specific threads they aren't interested in while browsing a forum section. However, you can use a few effective workarounds to focus on the threads you actually care about:
1. The "Bookmarks" Feature (Best Alternative)
Instead of trying to hide what you don't like, focus only on what you do. The forum has a Bookmark system that creates a personalized list of topics.
-
How to do it: Open a forum thread you like. Scroll to the very bottom of the page and look for the "Bookmark topic" link (usually in the footer area near "Subscribe topic").
-
How to view them: You can find all your saved threads in your User Control Panel (UCP) under the "Manage bookmarks" tab. This gives you a clean list of only the entries you want to follow.
2. Using the "Subscription" System
If you want to be notified specifically when a thread you like has a new entry:
3. "Mark Forums Read"
If the clutter is mainly from "Unread" icons for threads you don't care about, you can clear them quickly:
-
Click into the Forum section.
-
Look for the "Mark topics read" link (usually at the top right of the topic list).
-
This will grey out all current entries. Now, only new entries in any thread will appear highlighted, making it easier to spot updates in the forum you are tracking.
4. Advanced: Browser Filters
Since the forum software itself doesn't have a "Hide" button, some users use browser extensions like uBlock Origin to manually hide specific rows of a table based on text (like a thread title). This is more technical but can permanently "vanish" topics from your view.
